64-bit compatibility:
Disability Specialist® and Case Partner® are 32-bit applications; however, they are supported on a 64-bit operating system.
Peer-to-Peer Server:
Crocodile Software can be hosted on Windows® 7 or Windows® XP (SP3)
Note: If the workstation will be used for running other programs as well, then the recommended number of users is 5 or less.
Database Management Software:
Disability Specialist® and Case Partner® run on Microsoft® Access
- A licensed copy of Microsoft® Access is required to be installed on each workstation.
Minimum supported versions of Microsoft® Access
- Microsoft® Access 2010 – (Requires Crocodile Software versions 4.20 or higher)
- Microsoft® Access 2007 – (Requires Crocodile Software versions 4.00 or higher)
- Microsoft® Access 2003
Backup:
Crocodile software does not include a utility to backup the software.
The "CrocodileCenter" folder, located on the "server", should be backed up at least once a day onto removable media for safe storage. It is recommended that you use a five day rotation of backup files.
Remote Access:
Remote Desktop Services (Terminal Services) is recommended for remote access.
Server based hardware requirements apply, plus add an additional 256 MB RAM (or more) per user.
VPN – Crocodile software can be run over a VPN, however performance is often inadequate due to bandwidth restrictions.
Due to variable Crocodile usage and integrations, there are no statistics for the amount of bandwidth that the software requires.
Additional Hardware and Software Recommendations
- UPS Power Supply (Battery Backup) for the server and other critical hardware devices is recommended.
- Network Firewall and Anti-Virus software solutions should be employed.

- This integrations list contains specific information listing the exact versions of the compatible programs that have been tested and proven to work successfully with the Crocodile software programs. DO NOT attempt to use an unlisted version of a compatible software program. Please check for a newer version of this document for the most up to date information. Crocodile does not integrate with the "online", "live" or "web-based" versions of the listed programs.
- Calendar – Although Crocodile offers a integrated Calendar Plug-In, the information within the Crocodile Calendar can be exported to Outlook.
- Crocodile 4.41E is compatible with the 32-bit versions of Microsoft® Outlook 2010 and Microsoft® Word 2010. Crocodile is not compatible with the 64-bit versions. Support for 64-bit versions may be added in a future Crocodile release.
- Custom Reporting – Crocodile includes the ability to create custom reports through the capabilities of Microsoft® Access. Crocodile Solutions, LLC also has report writing services available. Contact Crocodile Solutions, LLC for more information.
